Built Around the Details That Matter

A mutual transfer only works when two employees can genuinely take each other’s place. So matching starts with service details, not with who posted last.

Checked both ways

The heart of a mutual transfer: they want your division and you want theirs. Each direction is checked on its own, so a one-way fit can still appear — ranked below a two-way one.

More on how it works

What is a mutual transfer in Indian Railways?

A mutual transfer is when two railway employees in the same post agree to take each other’s place: each moves to the other’s posting. The transfer itself is applied for and decided through the railway administration, under the applicable rules.

How does Rail Mutual find a mutual transfer partner?

You create a profile with your department, post, sub post, division, pay level and the divisions you want. Rail Mutual compares it with employees in the same post and sub post and shows those whose postings and preferences fit yours, labelled as strong, good or potential matches.

Can I look for inter-division and inter-railway mutual transfers?

Yes. Your preferences can include divisions in your own zone or in other zones, so you can look for a move within your railway or to another railway. Every match is checked in both directions.

Is Rail Mutual free to use?

Joining, creating your profile, browsing matches and showing interest are free. A connection fee applies only when our team connects you with another employee, and you see the amount before you pay.

Is Rail Mutual an official Indian Railways website?

No. Rail Mutual is an independent platform. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Indian Railways, the Ministry of Railways or any railway zone.

Who can see my mobile number?

No one browsing matches can see it. Your number is shared only with an employee you are connected with, after both of you have agreed.
